Music You'll Love: Gifts From Two Friends

Selena Kisses and Tells

No, I'm not talking about romance wise. I'm talking about her brand new album, Kiss and Tell. Selena says that her sound is a mixture of the styles of her equally talented bff Demi Lovato and Lady Gaga. From that comparison you can expect heartfelt songs with rocking techno beats. Not only will she be laying down the vocals, but on some songs she will also provide beats on the drums and a little electric guitar. There's no question about it, Selena Gomez is not just an actor, but an artist.

Her album hits stores September 29, but don't worry. Her first single, "Falling Down" (which is number 3 on Radio Disney's Dot Com Top Three!) can be purchased on iTunes tomorrow! Plus, the video for "Falling Down" will premiere right after "Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie" which airs this Friday, so don't forget to tune into Disney Channel starting at 8/7c.

Wow! There's lots going on for Miss Gomez this month, but guess who she gets to share the special month of August with ...(besides yours truly of course)

Demi Brings the Dynamite

That's right! A very happy birthday goes to Demi Lovato who turned 17 on August 20th. Yes, Demi is growing up and not just physically, but musically. Her new album Here We Go Again, is proof that change is a good thing. In her case, the best thing!

This time around Demi steps away from the style of Jonas and steps into her own. Here We Go Again has more of a soulful sound being inspired by John Mayer who co-wrote the ballad "World of Chances." Tracks like "Remember December" are reminiscent of the rock star in Demi, while "Everytime You Lie" reminds us of how powerful her vocals are. Overall, this album will be loved by every current Demi fan and even brand new fans lured in by her new sound and angelic voice.

Jordin Has The Cure

This is an Emergency, 911! If you have not picked up Jordin Sparks brand new album "Battlefield", you have been derived from some of the best music of the summer. Dance tracks like "S.O.S (Let The Music Play)" and "Walking on Snow" will keep you up on your feet while smoother tunes like "Watch You Go" and "It Takes More" will calm you down as you relax on the beach. So what are you waiting for? There are only a few more weeks left of summer (sad but, true) so there's no better time to pop this album in and spend your last summer days partying to the sounds of Jordin Sparks.

And A Miley Song is On

Do you love the song playing during the promo for Miley Cyrus and Max Azria's new clothing line? Well, you can now purchase "Party in the USA" at itunes.com. If you tuned into the 2009 Teen Choice Awards a few days ago, you got to see a performance of the song by Miley herself. To this day, it is still stuck in my head.

And if you're wondering when Miley will release another album, wonder no more. You can expect Miley's new "mini" album "The Time of Our Lives" to hit the Walmart stores exclusively August 31. There will only be 7 tracks to this album (hence "mini"), one of them being a live version of the song "Before the Storm", which she recorded with the Jonas Brothers. Most of you have probably already been singing along to "Send it On" (myself included, especially when Demi Lovato's part comes up) every time the "Friends for Change" promo airs on Disney Channel. Now we can finally learn the words to the rest of the song. You can purchase the full track on itunes at itunes.com/disneyfriendsforchange and all proceeds will go to environmental charities funded by Disney.

The music video for "Send it On" will premier today on Disney Channel so watch out for that. Also, "Lights, Camera, Take Action! Backstage with Disney Friends for Change", a half-hour special which will show behind the scenes footage of the campaign production, will air right after the premiere of the DCOM "Wizards of Waverly Place the Movie" only on Disney Channel. *
